Good morning my a-listers. I wanted to start off my morning by giving you an update on what is happening with my future audition. If you read my previous post then you would know that some frustration with the current state of my career has led me to audition for one of the top agencies in the world. I have nothing to lose by going after large companies, so I might as well try. After all, I'm not getting any younger.
I'm not going to name drop this agency because I don't want to jinx it or state anything too identifying on this blog. I will, however, share my process of the audition, and maybe if I get accepted I'll let you all know who I'm signing with. But that's all in the future. In the meantime, I need to focus on the audition ahead of me and what is at stake.
Some quick background on this agency: it's one of the largest and most powerful agencies in the entire world. It's known for producing global stars from multiple different countries. As you can probably imagine, they're incredibly powerful and are able to take you from the z-list to the a-list overnight. If you read my previous posts on signing with an acting agency or signing with a modeling agency then you'll already be familiar with some standard audition processes in America. This agency isn't any different. They have open calls, online submissions, mail applications, as well as a few popup auditions throughout the year. For me, March 18th is the big day for my audition, and I'm praying to whatever God is out there that it goes well and that I am accepted.
Now, let's talk about preparation. Besides practicing my skills, I wanted to lose weight before the audition, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I've been telling myself for over five years now that I need to lose twenty pounds, but those pounds don't seem to be going away. With only eight days left until the big day, there is no way I can magically drop ten pounds. Shame, because I think I'd look much more like an a-lister if I had the grit to lose these damn pounds. In addition to trying to get in shape, I did a bit of personal grooming. Nothing fancy, just freshened up my haircut and will probably splurge for a manicure.
I've been meaning to get new headshot as well, but I've been putting them off since I want to lose weight before I take them (as if that will happen!). I don't really look any different than I do in my old headshot, but I think I should always be improving. There's probably much more I should be doing, but that's all I can think about right now. I wish I was one of those girls that was blessed with a naturally slim frame.
That's all for now my a-listers. If you have any questions or topics that you'd like me to cover, let me know. In the meantime, find me on instagram at instagram.com/lifeonthatalist to always find the latest news on my life on that a-list.
Till next time, xoxo
